The front desk staff was very helpful and the taxis were always standig by ready to whisk us away. We all enjoyed the snack bar and ate there instead of the buffet most days for lunch. The staff came down to the beach to take our drink orders. We spent most of our days on the beach rather than around the pool due to the loud music, but that's just us. The evening shows were cheesy and after the first night were more of the same, but to different music. We so appreciated that extra attention by Wlizer and Adrian. Was always a treat to come into the room each afternoon to find a new towel animal on the bed! The staff were very friendly and a couple of them got to know our names and greeted us daily. It was spacious and well kept by our maid whom we tipped on a regular basis. Great presentation of the specialty coffee all aflame! We had a room with 2 double beds, no balcony. We ate in the Mexicanos restaurant one night and it was amazing! The food was excellent, the atmosphere very nice. We were disappointed on the Mexican theme night as we were expecting some great variety of local dishes, but it was more of the same. This area is very popular with nationals from Guadalahara. We travelled with our 2 teenagers who made friends with kids from the US and from Mexico. The beach is beautiful and one of the only resorts that has palapas on the beach to give you a get away from the sun. The hotel is older, but is well maintained and clean. I had read a lot of reviews and was a bit anxious, but overall, I think the negative reviews were unfounded. Just back from a week at the Samba - June 21-28.
